Crawford Museum of Transportation and Industry
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Designed by: Jack Rouse & Associates
Antique autos sit within time-frame dioramas as vintage airplanes hover above. Recreated buildings set the cultural
backdrop such as a radio control tower, a production-line factory and a UFO inspired gas station. A barge drifting
along the Cuyahoga in the Flats passes local heavy industries among mounds of raw materials. Another exhibit
explains the workings of an industrial laboratory, while a film simulates flight within a dirigible inspired theater.
Industrial remnants and artifacts are transformed into the children's play zone. This 'white model' was used in the
museum's design and layout.
